Updated over a week ago

Reclaim uses different kinds of emojis to help you understand different states of events on your calendar, as well as to communicate context to your coworkers. This guide will help you to understand what each emoji means. Currently these emojis are not removable or customizable.

Default emojis created by Reclaim

Here's a list of the emojis that Reclaim automatically creates for events on your calendar. You may not see all of these emojis depending on the state of events on your schedule.

πŸ†“ to show when an event is marked as free time

When you see the πŸ†“ emoji in front of an event title on your calendar, that means that Reclaim has marked the event as free time. When an event is marked as free time, it won't show as unavailable / blocked to those who try to book time with you. You can read more about how Reclaim manages free and busy time here.

πŸ›‘οΈ to show when an event is marked as busy

When you see the πŸ›‘οΈ emoji in front of an event title on your calendar, that means that Reclaim has marked the event as busy time. When an event is marked as busy, it will show as unavailable / blocked to those who try to book time with you. You can read more about how Reclaim manages free and busy time here.

πŸ”’ to show when an event is locked

When you see the πŸ”’ emoji in front of an event title on your calendar, that means that Reclaim has locked the event. When an event is locked, it won't move automatically -- even if it's overbooked. It will also be marked as busy time, showing as unavailable to others. You can read more about how to lock and unlock events here.

πŸ‘ to show when part of a Task is done

When you see the πŸ‘ emoji in front a Task's event title in the past on your calendar, that means that Reclaim has considered part of the Task to be complete. In other words, Reclaim hasn't finished scheduling all of the time for the Task, but it has finished scheduling part of it. You can learn more about how to manage these past Task events here.

βœ… to show when a Task, Habit, or Smart 1:1 is complete

When you see the βœ… emoji in front of a Task, Habit, or Smart 1:1 event in the past on your calendar, that means that Reclaim has finished scheduling that Task, Habit, or Smart 1:1.

In the case of Habits and Smart 1:1s, it doesn't mean that Reclaim is completely done scheduling that Habit or Smart 1:1 for the week, but it does mean that it's done for the day. In the case of Tasks, it means Reclaim is completely done scheduling all the work. You can read more about Task states here.

🏠 to show when an event is marked as personal

If you use Reclaim's Calendar Sync feature and have set your synced events to use the "Personal Commitment" privacy setting, you will see a 🏠 emoji in front of the title. You can learn more about Calendar Sync privacy settings here.

✈️ to show when an event is marked as a flight

Reclaim will automatically categorize flights on your calendar as well as add time to travel to and from the airport if you've enabled the travel time feature. If you see a ✈️ emoji in front of the event title, that means Reclaim has categorized the time as a flight.

🚌 to show when an event is marked as travel

If you've enabled Reclaim's travel time feature, you'll see a 🚌 emoji in front of the travel time events that Reclaim creates before and after events with automatically detected physical locations.

Custom emojis you create in Reclaim

In addition to the emojis Reclaim creates automatically, you can add emojis to Habits, Tasks, Smart 1:1s, and Decompression Time. These emojis will be shown in addition to the default emojis. For example, if you've created a Habit called 🍱 Lunch, the Habit will show as πŸ›‘οΈ 🍱 Lunch on your calendar when it is marked as busy time.

Reclaim also allows you to set emojis for your Slack status if you're using the Slack Status Sync feature. These emojis will be used to show your status in Slack unless another emoji is used on your calendar already, in which case Reclaim will use that one.
