Reclaim uses your scheduling hours to know when to schedule your Tasks, your Smart 1:1s, as well as to selectively sync events from other calendars. Here's how to set your scheduling hours in Reclaim.
Scheduling hours overview
Before we dive into how to set up your scheduling hours, let's walk through a quick overview of how scheduling hours work, and how to use them in Reclaim.
There are three types of scheduling hours in Reclaim:
Working Hours: these are hours where Reclaim will schedule work Tasks as well as sync events from other calendars (if you've opted to sync events only during working hours).
Personal Hours: these are hours where Reclaim will schedule personal Tasks.
Meeting Hours: these are hours where Reclaim will schedule your Smart 1:1s.
You can set multiple ranges per day for scheduling hours, which gives you lots of flexibility to express your true availability to Reclaim.
Setting your scheduling hours
To set your scheduling hours, go to Settings -> Hours. You'll see a screen that looks something like this:
Here's an overview of how to use this page:
Days of week: you can select a subset of weekdays for both personal and working hours by clicking them.
Time range: you can set different time ranges per-day to inform Reclaim's scheduling. Hit the
+button to add additional ranges to a day, and hit the
-button to remove a range.
Copy to all: you can save time customizing your scheduling hours by using
Copy to all, which will take all the ranges for the first day in your personal or working hours, and copy them to all other selected days.
What Reclaim uses your scheduling hours for
Reclaim uses your scheduling hours primarily for Tasks, Smart 1:1s and Calendar Sync:
Personal Tasks: if you set the category of a Task to "Personal", that Task will only ever be scheduled during your personal hours.
Solo Work Tasks: if you set the category of a Task to "Solo Work", that Task will only ever be scheduled during your working hours.
Calendar Sync: if you select the option to sync events during working hours only for a given sync policy, events from that calendar will only ever sync during your working hours.
Smart 1:1s: your Smart 1:1s will schedule around your Meeting Hours.
