Upgrading from Reclaim 1.0 to Reclaim 2.0

Reclaim 2.0 is a redesigned Reclaim experience that brings your calendar, Reclaim Chat, and scheduling automations together in one interactive workspace.

If you’re currently using Reclaim 1.0, many of the core features you already know and love - including Focus Time, Habits, Smart Meetings, Buffers, Scheduling Links, and integrations - are still here with an improved experience in Reclaim 2.0.

What changes most in 2.0 is how you interact with your schedule. Instead of managing most features independently and relying mainly on background automation, Reclaim 2.0 gives you a central Planner, an AI assistant through Reclaim Chat, Preview Mode for more controlled changes, and more customizable Agents that work together to help you review, adjust, and optimize your schedule.

This guide walks through how to upgrade, how it will impact your existing set up, and the biggest differences so you know what to expect before switching. You can also check out our FAQ doc to learn more.

What stays familiar?

Most of the core Reclaim experience still carries over to 2.0. You can continue to use features like:

  • Focus Time

  • Habits

  • Smart Meetings

  • Buffers

  • Scheduling Links

  • Calendar Sync and connected calendars

  • Slack and task-management integrations

  • Working, Meeting, and Personal Hours

  • Team and billing settings

How to upgrade to Reclaim 2.0

You can confirm your current app version (1.0 or 2.0) on your User Profile. If you are on the classic (1.0) version, you’ll see a banner to self-serve update at the top of your Planner.

If you don’t see the banner to upgrade, reach out to [email protected] for help getting moved to Reclaim 2.0.

Will my existing events be impacted?

Your existing Reclaim events will carry over to Reclaim 2.0 automatically, so you won’t need to recreate your setup.

The main exception is Tasks. While your existing Task list will migrate over to Reclaim 2.0, Tasks no longer automatically schedule dedicated task time on your calendar. Instead, Reclaim surfaces suggested tasks during your available Focus Time. You can learn more about the new workflow in the Tasks in 2.0 Overview doc.

What’s different in Reclaim 2.0?

Reclaim Chat AI assistant

Reclaim Chat lets you interact with your schedule using natural language. You can ask Reclaim Chat to analyze your week, identify scheduling issues, recommend changes, or help you take action.

For example:

  • “Help me get my week back on track”

  • “Cancel my meetings today”

  • “What should I work on next?”

  • “Find 30 minutes to meet with Bob this week”

Instead of navigating to individual settings or features for every change, you can use Reclaim Chat as a central place to ask questions, manage your schedule, and make tweaks to events.

The Planner + new Preview Mode

Reclaim 2.0 includes an improved calendar experience in the upgraded Planner, where you can view and manage your schedule directly in Reclaim. This gives you one place to see your calendar alongside Reclaim Chat, Agents, suggested tasks, and scheduling recommendations.

One of the biggest workflow changes in Reclaim 2.0 is Preview Mode.

When you ask Reclaim to make scheduling changes, those updates can be staged first so you can see what will move before anything is applied to your live calendar.

You can use Preview Mode to:

  • Reorganize your day

  • Resolve calendar conflicts

  • Create more Focus Time

  • Review suggested schedule changes

  • Confirm updates before they affect other attendees

This gives you more visibility and control over changes Reclaim recommends.

Your scheduling automations now live under Agents

In Reclaim 2.0, many of the scheduling features you already use are organized as Agents. Agents continuously manage different parts of your schedule based on your preferences.

These include:

  • Focus Time: Protects time for deep work

  • Habits: Keeps recurring routines on track

  • Buffers: Adds prep and recovery time around meetings

  • Smart Meetings: Helps manage recurring meetings and scheduling

  • Meeting Quality: Flags meetings that may need attention

You can review and manage Agents from the Planner, and you can also create or adjust them through Reclaim Chat.

Reclaim surfaces more scheduling issues and recommendations

Reclaim 2.0 can proactively highlight issues across your schedule, including:

  • Calendar conflicts

  • Overloaded days

  • Missing Focus Time

  • Skipped routines

  • Meetings missing agendas or links

You can use Reclaim Chat and Preview Mode to review and resolve those issues.

Insights give you more visibility into your schedule

Insights build on the personal and team Stats available in Reclaim 1.0, with more visibility into how time is being spent and where your schedule may be out of balance.

You can review patterns like:

  • Meetings vs. Focus Time

  • Workload distribution across your week

  • Meeting-heavy days

  • Fragmented Focus Time

  • Scheduling patterns and routines

For teams and companies, Insights also provide deeper visibility into how time is distributed across the organization by department, management, and more.

Integrations and AI tools

Reclaim 2.0 continues to connect with tools like:

  • Slack

  • Zoom

  • Jira

  • Asana

  • ClickUp

  • Linear

  • Google Tasks

  • Todoist

In addition, Reclaim 2.0 supports MCP (model context protocol), which lets compatible AI tools interact with your Reclaim schedule. Learn more about MCP in our FAQ doc.

This allows you to use tools like ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, and other MCP-compatible clients to access calendar context and trigger scheduling actions outside of the Reclaim app.

Before you switch

Before upgrading, it’s worth reviewing the parts of Reclaim you rely on most today, so you know where to find and review them in the new experience. If Tasks are a key part of your workflow, make sure you understand the new suggested-task model before switching.

You can review our Reclaim 2.0 Help Docs to get familiar with the latest workflows.

After you upgrade

Once you’re in Reclaim 2.0, we recommend starting with a few basics:

  1. Open the Planner and try Reclaim Chat.

  2. Review your existing Agents for Focus Time, Habits, Buffers, and Smart Meetings.

  3. Try making a scheduling change and reviewing it in Preview Mode.

  4. Review your Tasks workflow if you previously relied on automatic task scheduling.
