As a hiring manager or interviewer, your goal is to balance time for your own work with availability for recruiting activities and interviews. This guide will help you configure Reclaim to keep your calendar “meeting-friendly” while still protecting time for deep work, planning, and other non-meeting tasks.
Reclaim offers two Focus Time modes:
Reactive Mode: This mode is ideal for maximizing your availability for candidate interviews. You set a weekly or daily Focus Time goal, and Reclaim only blocks time when your calendar fills up and you risk missing your goal. Reactive mode prioritizes meeting availability in the week, keeping you as flexible as possible, for as long as possible.
Proactive Mode: In contrast, Proactive mode actively pre-blocks Focus Time throughout the week to meet your hourly goal. This can reduce meeting availability as slots are already taken by Focus Time.
Recommended Setup for Interviewers
Go to Focus in Reclaim and click Edit Focus Time (upper right corner).
Choose Reactive Mode.
Set your daily and weekly Focus goals based on your workload.
(Optional) Set a minimum duration for Focus events (e.g., 1 hour) to encourage uninterrupted work sessions.
Note: Work Habits and Tasks count toward your total Focus goal.
Example: If your Focus goal is 2 hours per day and you already have 2 hours of Habits or Tasks scheduled, Reclaim won’t add additional Focus Time blocks.
