Why is my Slack status not getting set?

Sometimes existing Slack settings or other status sync integrations can prevent Reclaim from setting your Slack status.

If you've set a custom status for certain events in Slack through your Reclaim Slack app settings, but still can't see them, you may be facing one of these issues:

  • Your existing Slack status settings may be preventing Reclaim status updates.

  • If you're using the Google Calendar integration for Slack, or another integration that sets your status automatically, it may be overriding Reclaim's status sync.

Troubleshooting steps

  1. Go to your Reclaim app in Slack.

  2. Click on the Home tab at the top, then click Settings.

  3. Check to make sure you have Status Sync turned On.

  4. If you have enabled the Google Calendar integration for Slack, disable the integration's Slack status feature (you can see if it's enabled by typing /gcal settings).

  5. Check to make sure you don't have any other apps enabled that are setting your Slack status.

  6. Turn the Reclaim status sync feature off and then on again in settings (/reclaim settings) to force Reclaim to reset your Slack status:
