👋 Welcome to Reclaim Learning Labs! Learn by doing with these guided exercises — so log in to your Planner and let’s get started.
Tasks help bridge the gap between your always changing to-do list and your availability – so you can make sure you have the time defended to work on your important items before deadlines come up.
How to create a Task
Creating a New Task can be done from within the Reclaim app, as well as across other native integrations.
From anywhere in Reclaim click the + New Task button in the upper right corner or hit keyboard shortcut ‘C’ to pull up the Task creator
Fill out the total Duration, and choose Split Up if it's a larger task and you would like to have it broken into multiple time slots on your calendar. Then choose the min and max duration of those time slots, add the Due Date
Click Create to start scheduling the Task
Tip: You can also schedule a Task (or Habit) directly on the Planner by clicking or dragging anywhere in the future, just as you would in Google or Outlook. Note, these events will stay locked where you create them.
How to reschedule a Task
Rescheduling from the Reclaim Planner
Move the Task: You can simply drag-and-drop a Task on the Planner to reschedule it. Once you have manually moved it, it will lock into place and not auto reschedule again.
Reschedule: Control click on the Task and click Snooze. Reclaim will give you future options, and not lock the Task at the rescheduled time.
Rescheduling from your calendar
Move a Task: You can simply drag-and-drop a Task on your Google or Outlook calendar to reschedule it. Once you have manually moved it, it will lock into place and not auto reschedule again.
Delete a Task: You can also just delete a task on your native calendar and Reclaim will find the next available time for you, and not lock the Task at the rescheduled time.

Auto-rescheduling settings for Tasks
By default, Reclaim will assume that you've begun working on a Task event when it's scheduled. However, some people prefer to only have Tasks start when they manually start working on them, or to reopen & reschedule Tasks automatically if they have not marked them as "Done" or completed.
You can learn more about these settings here.
