How to see the history of an event in Google Workspace for debugging purposes

Updated yesterday

Sometimes, it's necessary to view the history of a calendar event in Google Workspace to debug issues and track changes made by tools like Reclaim.

To do this, you should check the Google Workspace audit logs for the event's history.

Access Requirements

  • Ensure you have access to Google Workspace. If you need assistance, contact your IT team.

  • Obtain the ID of the event. If you don't have it, you can edit the event in Google Calendar and provide Reclaim.ai support with the edit URL, which includes the hashed event ID. The edit URL will look something like this:

    https://calendar.google.com/calendar/u/0/r/eventedit/M2huM2o0NzVtMzg0YWhuNTkyMG1ua3Y4djMga2VpcmVjbGFpbUBt

If the event has been deleted, check the Google Calendar Trash to restore it, allowing you to retrieve the edit URL.

Steps to Access Calendar Logs

  1. Once you have the event ID, go to the Google Workspace Calendar Logs,

  2. Search the Calendar Log Events using the event ID:

You will see a list of logs that can help you identify changes made to the event and the tools that modified them.
