Use ‘Priorities’ to automate tradeoffs around what's most important

In this lab you’ll learn how to assign universal Priorities to all the events on your calendar.

👋 Welcome to Reclaim Learning Labs! Learn by doing with these guided exercises — so log in to your Planner and let’s get started.

With Priorities, you can take control of all the events on your calendar – both Reclaim-created smart events and non-Reclaim events (like meetings created in Google Calendar or Outlook Calendar) – you can build out a plan around what's most important every week, and automatically make tradeoffs with lower-priority items when necessary.

How to change the Priority of Lunch

  1. Click Priorities in the left navigation - you’ll see Critical, High, Medium, and Low Priority as headers across columns

  2. Click and Drag your Lunch Habit into a different column

    • Or you can click on the bar icon 📶 to set a new priority for the event

How to change the Priority of Lunch again

  1. On your Planner in the right-side menu – you can see an overview of all your Priorities. Each of your Reclaim events will be tagged with a priority level, indicated by the ‘bar’ icon to the right.

  2. Find Lunch in the list and change the priority by clicking on the 'bar' icon 📶 and setting a new priority

💡 Pro tip: All your non-Reclaim events on your calendar will always be set to Critical by default so they will never be overbooked by Reclaim – unless you manually turn down their priority level.

Focus Time: Focus Time is prioritized a little differently than your other Reclaim smart events (learn more about how Priorities work in Reclaim here):

  • Habits, Tasks, and Smart Meetings will be scheduled before Focus Time, regardless of priority levels. This allows you to build a more concrete plan for the week if you're using other smart features, while still protecting 'extra' time in the week with Focus to help you meet your goals.

  • Scheduling Links will see Focus Time events as High Priority, meaning that only Critical Scheduling Links will show those slots as available times to meet.
