Sync your schedules & avoid double-bookings with 'Calendar Sync'

Create a Calendar Sync policy in Reclaim to prevent double-bookings across multiple calendars.

By syncing events from your personal (or other) calendars, you’ll ensure your primary calendar always reflects your true availability. Enabling Calendar Sync is optional, but highly recommended.

Create a Calendar Sync

  1. Click Calendar Sync on the Reclaim left navigation menu.

  2. Click Start synching your calendars, you’ll see a pop up with Source and Destination.

  3. In the upper left corner click + Add Account

    • Choose Google or Outlook and log in to your account

  4. The added account will now appear in the Source > Select account dropdown

    • Then click Select Calendar and choose the calendar that you want to sync over

  5. In the Destination section, select your Work email account

    • Then select the destination calendar in the Select Calendar dropdown

  6. Visibility: Choose either ‘Personal Commitment for all’ or ‘Busy for all’ for how much context you want others to see on your synced events.

  7. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the Start Syncing button

How to block time on your work calendar for a personal commitment

  1. From your personal calendar, create an event called ‘Test Event’. Make note of the day and time of the event

  2. Navigate to your work calendar and validate that there’s an event that corresponds to the date and time of the personal event. Click on the event and validate the it contains the following text in the description: “This event was created by Reclaim”

  3. (Google users) To view the name of the personal event, click on a personal event on your work calendar and then click on the Reclaim Add-on. The name of the event will appear in the top portion of the add-on UI.

  4. Reschedule the event on your personal calendar to a new day and time

  5. Verify that the scheduled day and time of the synched event on your work calendar matches that of your personal calendar

  6. From your personal calendar, remove the event named ‘Test Event’
