It's extremely common for working professionals to have multiple emails. At a minimum, it's likely that you have a personal email and a work one.

When you signed up for Reclaim and connected your calendar to start blocking time, you may have used your work email. That's great! Reclaim works best with busy schedules, and your work calendar is where the action tends to be.

But what happens if you change jobs, or lose access to an email? This is where Reclaim makes it easy to swap out your main email for another one -- and automatically migrate over your existing settings, Sync Policies, Tasks, and Habits.

This article will cover how to manage multiple emails connected to Reclaim, as well as how to swap out your main email to start blocking time on a different calendar.

Managing multiple emails in Reclaim

You can see which emails are connected to your Reclaim account by going to Settings > Accounts. This list will include any emails that you've added via Calendar Sync, as well as any that you've added via this Accounts page:

Within this view, you can:

  • Delete any connected email

  • Reconnect any email that Reclaim may have lost calendar access to

  • Add new emails to connect to Reclaim

  • Swap out your main email for another email that's connected to Reclaim

You probably landed on this article because that last point -- swapping out your main email -- is what you're trying to do! So let's talk through how to do that below.

Swapping out the main email for your Reclaim account

If you know you're changing jobs, or are about to lose access to your email, you can proactively migrate your Reclaim account to another connected email with just a couple clicks. This will not only associate that email as the main one for your account, but it will also use the primary calendar associated with that email as the one Reclaim blocks time on.


First, you'll want to add the email to your Reclaim accounts list if you haven't already. You can do this by clicking the + Add another account button underneath your account list.

Once you've identified and connected the email that you want to use as your main one for Reclaim, hover over it and click the Use as main button:

Once you click this button, Reclaim will ask you to confirm the migration:

Once you've confirmed the migration, Reclaim will start transferring over your account to the new email and all your existing Reclaim data (including any incomplete Tasks) will be migrated over to the primary calendar associated with that new main email.

Why can't I use a connected email as my main?

If you're running into trouble using another connected email as your main Reclaim email, there are likely one of three causes:

  • The email hasn't been added to Reclaim. To fix this, simply add the account using the + Add new account button and login using your desired email.

  • Reclaim has lost access to the email and calendar. To fix this, simply click the Reconnect button next to the email, confirm the permissions asked for by Reclaim, and the email should be reconnected.

  • The email is connected to multiple Reclaim accounts. To fix this, contact support so that we can migrate those existing accounts to a single one.

Help! I already lost access to my email. How do I swap it now?

If you've already lost access to the email that you use to login to Reclaim, you can still login to your account using any connected email. So for example, if you already were syncing events from your personal email's calendar within your Reclaim account, you can login to your account using that email and follow the steps above to make it your main Reclaim email.

In fact, even if you login using your "lost" email, Reclaim will automatically detect that it's lost access and prompt you to set a new email as your main one.
